Sofie Buckminster

I'm Sofie, a master's student at Columbia Journalism School. I'm currently freelancing in NYC, reporting on migrant communities -- especially those from war-torn homelands.

This past spring, I graduated from Duke University with a degree in psychology and journalism studies. I've written about everything from politics to psychedelics and enjoy it too much to consider it a real job. My favorite story I've done is an award-winning feature on naked yoga in Durham. My work has appeared in Semafor, the Concord Monitor, 9th St Journal and INDY Week magazine.
