Sofie Buckminster

I'm Sofie, a recent psychology and journalism graduate from Duke University. I write about everything from politics to psychedelics and enjoy it too much to consider it a real job. My favorite story I've done is an award-winning feature on naked yoga in Durham.

Since interning at the Concord Monitor last summer, I've expanded my focus to the bigger picture: the importance of news, and the threats it faces. I'm eager to use my age and energy to find bold solutions that work, whether from a legislative, business, or content angle.

This fall, I'll be heading to NYC to pursue a part-time Masters of Science at Columbia Journalism School.
